Project Objective

Wendel Duchscherer was retained as the structural engineer for the Kiowa Resort and Casino. Construction of a new 63,000 sq. ft. gaming facility for the Kiowa Tribal Community.

Solution

The project involved the re-use of an existing 63,000 sq. ft. steel framed structure fabricated for a project that was never built. Wendel Duchscherer worked closely with the architect and design-builder to review the structural frame for conformance with local building code requirements and make necessary improvements to accommodate the new gaming program. This included the incorporation of a new mezzanine structure, and a raised front entrance structure and porte-cochere. Also included was the design of building foundations and a back-of-house loading dock area.
