Grant Writing and Grants Management Expertise
Wendel staff has a wide range of skills and experience, which provides the basis for a flexible approach to grants application and grants management, tailored to the unique needs and capacities of each client. We are a full service architectural, engineering and planning company with expertise in a wide variety of fields including: transportation planning, energy, water, sewer, drainage, facilities (schools, public works facilities, etc.) parks, open space, public transportation, facilities and planning, and many other services.
Our subject matter specialists are well-versed in many of the policies and planning concepts that are the foundation for grants. Our staff includes individuals who have not only prepared successful grant applications for discretionary Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding programs, including Very Small Starts projects, as well as preparing and assisting in the grants management processes for formula based programs. As former staff of transit agencies, some of our staff have the ability to facilitate the development of appropriate, fundable applications. We also have a GIS department to generate effective mapping, as well as graphic services to develop renderings, schematics and other supporting material.
We often recommend the development of a grants plan, which focuses on identifying, articulating and prioritizing the range of needs for a particular application, which can either be a turn-key effort by Wendel, or an oversight role. Our flexible approach and experience helps us strategically structure projects to maximize their potential for successful funding.
We recognize many newer grant programs stress the need for partnerships across a spectrum of agencies and organizations, and we can lead and facilitate working relationships with these multiple agencies. The federal partnership which includes Department of Transportation/Federal Transit Administration (DOT/FTA), Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have been the source of a number of grant opportunities, and our knowledge of these programs and their priorities can provide a good basis for local program development. In addition, many of our specialists have worked on projects that have grant funding in both the public and private sectors, thus having real experience in applying, receiving and implementing grant programs.
We emphasize that our first priority is to work with our clients to provide the level of service that best fits their circumstances. Our approach is strategic, and aimed at helping our clients achieve their goals and objectives.
