Retro-Commissioning
Retro-Commissioning
As time goes by, the operation of a building changes to meet the functional requirements of its occupants. This often results in building systems that may not perform as originally designed, resulting in increased energy and maintenance costs. Retro-commissioning is the process of ensuring by verification and functional testing that facility systems operate and interact properly to provide comfort, safety, and energy efficiency. The results of retro-commissioning are no cost or low cost modifications to items such as control sequences and distribution systems that provide increased comfort and energy savings.
Wendel provides retro-commissioning and validation services to educational, industrial, institutional, commercial and municipal clients. We have been providing these services long before they became buzz words. We have presented at a number of local, state and national conferences on the benefits of, and the reasons for, Commissioning and Retro-Commissioning.
Wendel is a member of both the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA). Our LEED Accredited and Certified Commissioning Professionals have worked on a number of LEED Certified buildings throughout the United States.
