State Sponsored Programs
Our overall quality commitment is best evidenced by our long standing relationships with organizations which have spanned two decades. A few of these include the New York Power Authority, New York State Energy Research and Development Agency (NYSERDA), the Dormitory Authority of New York and National Grid.
New York Power Authority Energy Services Program
Since 1997, Wendel has been working with the New York Power Authority as an implementation contactor for the Authority’s Statewide Energy Services Program. As an implementation contractor, Wendel is responsible for identifying and implementing energy saving opportunities at various facilities throughout New York State. Energy efficiency projects implemented under Wendel’s contract have totaled over $50 million and saved customers over $3.3 million in annual energy cost.
New York State Energy Research and Development Authority
As a NYSERDA FlexTech contractor since 1994, Wendel has provided technical assistance to over 200 municipal, commercial, industrial, educational, and institutional facility owners. The primary focus of FlexTech is to identify, evaluate and encourage the implementation of cost effective energy efficiency measures. NYSERDA’s FlexTech Program offers a 50% cost shared grant to NYS organizations for professional energy engineering services. These services include energy audits, engineering feasibility and technical assistance studies, implementation assistance, process improvement analysis, computer software building modeling, and green building design assistance.
Dormitory Authority State of New York Statewide Energy Performance Program
Through this “turn-key” program, the Dormitory Authority provides energy auditing, design and construction management services to implement energy related improvements and upgrades to various facilities on a statewide basis. This program is designed to benefit all of DASNY’s clients with a particular emphasis on City University of New York (CUNY) projects. Projects undertaken as part of this program are intended to meet one or more of the following objectives:
- a net decrease in energy consumption;
- a net reduction in sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide for fossil fueled equipment;
- a net reduction in energy costs over the life of the project.
National Grid
As a National Grid Tier 1 Partner, Wendel provides energy efficiency consulting services to National Grid and its customers. Wendel’s role ranges from reviewing and verifying incentive applications to conducting ASHRAE Level 1 and Level 2 audits. Wendel was chosen by National Grid to provide these services based on our reputation, experience, and expertise in energy efficiency.
