Structural Engineering
Wendel’s structural engineering group provides creative structural design services on projects of all sizes and complexity to both in-house project teams as well as project teams comprised of many different partnering firms. Our projects range in size from multi story high rise structures to small investigations and peer reviews.
Our structural engineering group strives for simple and elegant solutions to complicated structural problems. Our structural design process is inherently flexible due to the various types of projects we work on. While a large part of our expertise is state of the art computer modeling using various software packages, we still utilize “back of the napkin” calculations to verify findings. We have led our company’s efforts to implement Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a design tool, and in fact began utilizing BIM on projects as early as 2005.
We have worked with many project delivery models including design-bid-build, design-build as well as “flash track” project delivery as the project warrants. We routinely work very closely with contractors and fabricators to facilitate processes that streamline the construction process.
