Comprehensive Geographic Data Management and Database Design
Spatial Geodatabase modeling is a very powerful tool for simplifying the representation and conceptualization of complex data systems in a GIS. Wendel’s GIS team has proven experience in the design of comprehensive geographic database systems that are effective in overall data management and integration with a GIS, whether it be for an implemented GIS solution or for an internet based GIS cloud computing solution.
Benefits of Geographic Data Management
- All assets in one centralized location that can be accessed with the click of a button
- Data and document conversion to a GIS so assets can be viewed and managed spatially
- Cost saving as a result of increased access to data and communication in an organization
Proven Experience…
Cheektowaga, NY Storm and Sanitary Sewer Project:
Wendel designed and implemented a structured ESRI-based Geodatabase (GDB), performing paper‑to‑GIS data conversion. Using ESRI’s web-based ArcGIS Server, we developed a web mapping application with customized tools that enabled asset data entry and editing for both sanitary and storm sewer layers. Field verification was performed using a Trimble GeoXT GPS data collector running customized ArcPAD applications. A training and support program prepared town staff to become self-sufficient and extend GIS to their outside maintenance departments.
