Environmental Review Services

Wendel has a long history of experience in offering SEQR, SERP and NEPA review and coordination services to our municipal and private clients. For these clients, we have provided services that involve not only procedural advice, but our technical knowledge and ability to address environmental issues. Many of our staff have been involved with environmental review regulations from their inception and have an expert understanding of their use and practice.

On a daily basis, Wendel assists communities with the review of proposed projects and the completion of the SEQR process (including the preparation or the review of environmental documentation).  We also provide assistance to Lead Agencies (typically the local community – town, village and /or county) in the review and completion of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS).  In the case of a private development project, the costs for our services to assist the lead agency are paid for by the applicant in accordance with Section 617.13 of the SEQR regulations.

In completing SEQR documentation and EIS’s for private applicants, Wendel has experience in working hand-in-hand with government agencies. This provides us with the knowledge required to complete these documents to not only meet the applicant’s requirements, but also the needs of the lead agency, which helps to facilitate a smoother approval process.
